Yale Psychiatrist Advises LGBTQ+ Community to Shun Trump-Voting Relatives During the Holidays

A  psychiatrist on MSNBC advised viewers to consider distancing themselves from family members who had voted for Donald Trump during the upcoming holiday season.

In her statement, she emphasized the importance of acknowledging and prioritizing one’s well-being. She expressed that if an individual finds themselves in a situation where their loved ones or close friends have voted in ways that directly oppose their beliefs and values, it is acceptable to distance oneself from those individuals. She further mentioned that it is essential to communicate the reasons behind this decision, ensuring transparency and understanding in the process.

“I’m sorry, but I have a problem with the way you voted because it directly affects my well-being. As a result, I won’t be able to spend the holidays with you. I need some time and space for myself.”
