Colorado Man Arrested for Alleged Vehicle Theft in Cache County
Nibley, UT – A 44-year-old Colorado man, Shannon Ashawn Palmer, was arrested on Tuesday, November 26th, in connection with the theft of a vehicle from a Nibley woman.
According to a warrant affidavit, the victim met Palmer through an online dating site and had been in a relationship with him for over a year. During this time, Palmer allegedly manipulated the victim into allowing him to stay at her home on multiple occasions, where he exhibited verbally and emotionally abusive behavior.
In January 2024, the victim took out a loan to purchase an SUV, which she allowed Palmer to use. However, in April of the same year, after a physical altercation, Palmer allegedly stole the vehicle and refused to return it. The vehicle was eventually impounded by police in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Palmer was booked into the Cache County Jail on suspicion of theft, a second-degree felony. He is currently being held on a $10,000 bond.
