Two men from Colorado arrested in Wabaunsee County after traffic violations

Two Colorado men were taken into custody on Friday, November 22, after committing traffic violations in Wabaunsee County, Kansas.

Wabaunsee County Sheriff officers pulled over a vehicle on Friday after 6:30 p.m. on I-70 eastbound due to multiple traffic violations.

Shortly after initial contact, law enforcement officers conducted a plain view probable cause search of the vehicle, which happened to be a 2010 Subaru Forester with Colorado plates.

During the search of the vehicle, law enforcement officers discovered Methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia associated with narcotics use and distribution. In addition, they also found two firearms.

Joshua Pontious, a 50-year-old driver from Bennett, Colorado, was arrested without any issues. He was then taken to the WBCO Jail, where he is currently being held until he can post bond. Pontious faces several charges, including the possession of narcotics with the intent to distribute and being a felon in possession of firearms.

Kenneth Pontious, a 78-year-old passenger from Bennett, Colorado, was arrested without any resistance. He has been taken to WBCO Jail, where he is currently being held, awaiting bond. The charges against him include possession of narcotics and narcotics paraphernalia.
