Third suspect apprehended by Beaumont Police in connection to June 2023 homicide

The Beaumont Police apprehended JW Marshall, a 43-year-old resident of Beaumont, on Wednesday, December 18. Marshall was arrested in connection with the murder of Curtis Crawford, a 26-year-old man from Beaumont.

A man has been apprehended as the third suspect involved in the fatal shooting that took place in June 2023 in Beaumont, Texas.

Marshall was apprehended on Wyatt St. in Beaumont, specifically in the 4900 block. At present, detectives are conducting interviews with Marshall and will disclose additional details as they become accessible.

On June 6, 2023, the Beaumont police received a report regarding a shooting incident at the Pointe North Apartments on Magnolia Street in Beaumont. Upon arrival, the police discovered an unresponsive individual, identified as Crawford. Unfortunately, Crawford was pronounced dead by the Beaumont EMS.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the video surveillance footage from inside the apartment complex showed Crawford and an unidentified individual arriving and leaving in a vehicle.

According to the affidavit, two individuals who seemed to be waiting for him, opened fire on Crawford as soon as he exited the vehicle.

39-year-old Jamal McCain and 28-year-old Janesya Limbrick are the two individuals who were arrested in connection with Crawford’s death.

According to the affidavit, investigators conducted a thorough examination of Limbrick’s cellphone and discovered evidence of extensive communication between her and McCain. The messages suggested that they were coordinating a potential robbery targeting Crawford.

According to the police, the information shared in the communications is confirmed by the video surveillance footage obtained from the scene.

In June, U.S. Marshals arrested McCain in San Antonio after receiving information from the Beaumont Police Department. Following the arrest, McCain was then transferred to the Jefferson County Jail.

McCain is facing additional charges in connection with an aggravated assault incident that occurred in April 2023. The charges against him include tampering with evidence and possessing a firearm unlawfully.
