Suspect in Milwaukee homicide apprehended during traffic stop in Iowa

An 18-year-old man from Milwaukee, who was wanted for first-degree intentional homicide, was apprehended on Friday night during a traffic stop in Buchanan County.

A Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputy pulled over a vehicle for speeding near Main Street and Branard Street in Brandon at around 11:55 p.m. While conducting the stop, deputies detected the presence of a controlled substance based on the odor and proceeded to verify the personal information of the vehicle’s occupants.

The investigation revealed that Christian Brandon Martin, one of the passengers, had an outstanding arrest warrant from Milwaukee County. A 15-year-old boy lost his life in a tragic shooting incident that occurred in Milwaukee on October 28.

The Buchanan County Jail is currently holding Martin. He will be extradited to Milwaukee. There are also pending charges against him in Buchanan County related to controlled substance violations.
