DC Fire and EMS said an officer and another person were rescued from the Tidal Basin in Southwest D.C. on Saturday.
In a post on X at noon, crews were dispatched to 15th Street and Maine Avenue SW for a water rescue involving a law enforcement officer and another individual.
A short time later, first responders reported that both were retrieved from the water and sent to the hospital for further evaluation.
As of Saturday afternoon, there was no word on their status.
