New York Man Receives Prison Sentence For Firearms Violation

A man from New York has been sentenced to a state prison in Pennsylvania for violating firearms laws.

Ronald Billingsley has been handed a sentence of 50 to 108 months in state prison by District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer. The sentence comes after Billingsley pleaded guilty to a felony charge of possessing a firearm without a license to carry, as well as simple assault against another inmate at the McKean County Jail.

Billingsley found himself in legal trouble when the Bradford City Police responded to a disturbance at an apartment building in Bradford. The charges were filed against him as he was involved in the incident. Being a convicted felon, Billingsley violated Pennsylvania law by possessing a firearm, which is strictly prohibited for individuals with his criminal record.
