Missing Indiana Woman Discovered Dead In Creek Over A Quarter-mile From Crash Site

Authorities in southeast Indiana are investigating the discovery of a woman’s body more than a quarter of a mile from where her vehicle crashed.

On November 30, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reported that they found Lorena Scott’s vehicle on New Paris Pike following a crash, but they were unable to recover Scott.

A comprehensive investigation and search began, with deputies and a drone crew following all leads to locate Scott.

On Tuesday, Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies and other agencies discovered Scott dead in a creek near a massive culvert, more than a quarter mile east of the crash site.

The investigation into her death is ongoing, but the sheriff’s office stated that they have not yet confirmed the cause of death and do not suspect foul play.
