A man who was wanted for attempted murder in Minnesota after a neighbor’s noise complaint has been located and apprehended in Missouri.
The Circuit Court records filed on Wednesday, March 5, in Harrison County, Missouri, have disclosed that law enforcement authorities have successfully apprehended Ricardo Ortiz. Ricardo Ortiz was wanted in connection with an attempted murder case in Minnesota.
On Monday, March 3, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office arrested Ortiz in Missouri based on a warrant issued for him by the State of Minnesota.
The warrant included allegations of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and burglary charges.
The Faribault Police Department filed a probable cause statement stating that on Saturday, March 1, at around 11:40 p.m., law enforcement officials received a call about a stabbing at a residence converted into apartments in the vicinity of 3rd and 7th Streets.
Law enforcement officials reported that the victim was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital, where skilled doctors promptly attended to his wounds. The report also highlighted concerns about potential damage to the victim’s diaphragm and spleen caused by the knife cut. However, it is worth noting that he was successfully released from the hospital after a few days of recovery.
The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office received a notification from authorities in Rice County, Minnesota, indicating that Ortiz might be in the area. With the assistance of the Bethany Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, he was located and apprehended on Monday.
The extradition hearing for Ortiz is set to take place in Missouri on Thursday, March 6 at 9 a.m.
