A Texas man, later identified as 29-year-old lrbin, must serve at least three decades in prison before becoming eligible for parole after being sentenced to more than seven decades for shooting his fiancée after wanting to break up with the then-22-year-old man. Prosecutors said that Lordes, a 16-year-old girl, killed herself because she wanted to end her relationship with the man after he had previously put a weapon to her face.
According to court documents, the defendant and the victim had been dating for a year when the much younger female expressed her want to discontinue the relationship. Investigators determined during the inquiry that the victim intended to end her relationship with the defendant after he threatened her with a gun.
Prosecutors also presented communications exchanged between the victim and the defendant, claiming that the lady responded, ‘When you were about to shoot me,’ after he asked her whether he ‘believed she was going to be with him.’ The man also messaged her, stating that he had the weapon aimed at her face, but he let it drop because he believed she meant it. The woman then responded, “She’s never talking to him again.”
Just moments later, the victim sent her buddy a photo of the defendant holding a gun next to his face. Soon after, the victim went outside to meet someone who was waiting in a car. As she approached the automobile, the buddy witnessed the defendant emerge from the shadows and shoot her in the head. Police sources soon arrested him. During the trial, prosecutors stated that ‘five minutes after the victim told him it was over for good, he killed her.’
Prosecutors portrayed the defendant as a predator who targeted a teenage girl during their year-long relationship, which she ended because he threatened her life. A five-day trial in November resulted in the defendant’s murder conviction. On Tuesday, the judge sentenced him to 75 years in prison after he chose to seek punishment.
I believe in an eye for an eye. In cases like this where there are witnesses and indisputable evidence, if you take a life you forfeit your life. Why should taxpayers foot the bill for years for someone with no redeemable qualities?
Hand him over to the family and friends of victims, who are given immunity for anything they choose to do, Set up a scholarship in her name and do something good with the money that’s going to be wasted on him in prison.
