Florida police conduct over 900 car stops during an eight-hour crackdown on US-19

Law enforcement agencies joined forces for a significant traffic enforcement operation on US-19 this week, leading to the issuance of nearly 500 citations and arrests.

On December 18, a “multi-agency public safety operation” was conducted for eight hours along a 100 mile stretch of US-19.

    • Total Traffic Stops: 893 (232 were speeding citations)
    • Total Citation and Arrests: 488
    • Total Physical Arrests: 9
    • Total DUI Arrests: 4
    • Total Warnings: 475

“The collaborative efforts of all agencies involved emphasize the importance of community safety and demonstrate the effectiveness of teamwork in addressing critical traffic safety issues. It is crucial to remain vigilant against dangerous driving behaviors as we move forward. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), Pinellas Park Police Department (PPPD), Clearwater Police Department (CPD), Largo Police Department (LPD), St. Petersburg Police Department (SPPD), Tarpon Springs Police Department (TSPD), New Port Richey Police Department (NPRPD), Port Richey Police Department (PRPD), Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), and Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) were among the participating agencies.
