FBI investigators request help locating fugitives who may have fled to Florida

FBI detectives are seeking assistance from the public in locating two wanted fugitives who have been charged with conspiracy to transport stolen property across state lines.

Vasile Sava, aged 53, and Onita Rostas, aged 54, are currently wanted for conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property. It is believed that they have fled the state in order to avoid apprehension.

According to authorities, multiple jewelry businesses in the Kansas City area have been targeted by the pair.

During these targeted robberies, Sava and Rostas, along with other known and unknown suspects, would enter the jewelry stores in groups. Their intention was to distract the employees while some members of the group would skillfully remove and conceal items in cleverly executed distraction thefts.

Sava and Rostas are happily married.

The Kansas District Court issued federal warrants for each of their arrests on January 1, 2024.

Investigators suspect that the individuals in question could be using multiple aliases and potentially residing or operating in various locations across the country. These areas include California, Texas, Florida, Maryland, and Virginia.

The FBI investigators have released wanted posters for both Sava and Rostas.

If you have any information about Sava’s or Rostas’ whereabouts, please reach out to your local law enforcement agency or contact the FBI.
