Good morning and happy Saturday! We’re starting off with chilly temperatures in the 20s, and wind chills that feel as cold as the teens, dropping to 10 degrees in some areas. If you’re heading out for early shopping or running errands today, be sure to bundle up with a coat, gloves, scarf, and hat. The cold will persist throughout the day, with a light breeze coming from 5-10 mph.
For those attending the Chiefs game at Arrowhead or watching at a bar with friends, the feels-like temperatures will remain in the 20s until midday. Today’s high will reach 37 degrees, with overnight lows dipping into the mid-20s.
Looking ahead to Saturday, snow showers are expected to develop around 6 a.m. and move south and east through the morning. While there is some uncertainty about where the heaviest bands will form, the best chance for snow accumulation will be between 6 a.m. and noon. Accumulation is expected to be light, with a trace to 2 inches possible in some areas. Roads may become slick, and visibility could be reduced during heavier snowfall, so drivers should take extra care.
Saturday will stay cold, with daytime highs in the mid to upper 30s and a low of 15-20 degrees overnight. After that, conditions will remain quiet and calm, with temperatures warming up by the middle of next week. Highs will be in the 40s by Tuesday, and we could see temperatures 5-10 degrees above average by Wednesday!
