Biden-Harris administration designates $41 billion to support climate organizations

A recent report from House Republicans alleges that the Biden-Harris administration allocated a staggering $41 billion to environmental organizations that promote what they describe as a “radical, left-leaning ideology.” The explicit objective behind this funding was purportedly to eliminate the country’s reliance on fossil fuels.

The House Energy and Commerce Committee recently published a report that criticizes the Biden-Harris administration for providing federal funding to groups that promote green energy technology. The report highlights concerns about the reliance of these technologies on supply chains controlled by the Chinese Communist Party.

The report titled “Exposing the Green Group Giveaway Behind the Biden-Harris Environmental Justice Programs” uncovers the fact that the Biden-Harris administration provided funding to the Delaware Valley Citizens Council for Clean Air with the aim of eliminating fracking and promoting alternative means of transportation such as biking, walking, transit, and electric vehicles. Additionally, the report highlights that the West Harlem Environmental Action, Incorporated (WE ACT) received a substantial $10 million to oppose new natural gas projects and combat what they perceive as insufficient infrastructure solutions.

House Republicans criticized the Biden-Harris administration for providing $50 million to the Climate Justice Alliance, an organization that focuses on addressing social, racial, economic, and environmental justice issues related to climate change. They also raised concerns about the allocation of $2.8 billion to the Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Environmental Justice and External Civil Rights.

House Republicans have criticized the EPA for using taxpayer money to fund special interest groups with a radical energy agenda. They argue that these funds are being used to “educate” the public and drive public outreach, as well as to help these groups influence government policymaking and outcomes.

The House Energy and Commerce Committee argues that the Environmental Protection Agency lacked sufficient Congressional oversight in its distribution of $41.5 billion in federal grants to non-profit organizations under the Inflation Reduction Act. According to The Post Millennial, President Joe Biden himself acknowledged that the Inflation Reduction Act was primarily focused on addressing climate change rather than reducing inflation.

House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair, Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.), strongly criticized the Biden-Harris administration, accusing them of prioritizing environmental special interests over the well-being of the American people. She stated, “It is abundantly evident that the Biden-Harris administration is favoring its environmental special interests to the detriment of the American people.”

According to Rodgers, it is just as concerning that the policies implemented by the administration are actually benefiting the Chinese Communist Party, which happens to be the largest polluter globally.

House Republicans have expressed concerns about the allocation of $41 billion to environmental groups with a “left-leaning ideology,” stating that it could be seen as a form of taxpayer-funded lobbying. The committee has further stated that these organizations, already known for their efforts to influence public opinion, may utilize these funds to try and manipulate the beliefs and opinions of individuals within the communities they target.
