One Dead After Shooting in Burlington Sunday Night

One Dead, Another Injured in Burlington Shooting

BURLINGTON, IA – A shooting in Burlington left one man dead and another injured on Sunday night, according to a release from the Burlington Police Department.

At approximately 10:19 p.m. on November 24, police responded to reports of a shooting in the 500 block of S. Seventh Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men with gunshot wounds and immediately provided medical assistance.

One of the victims was transported to the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center before being transferred to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for further treatment. The second victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives from the Burlington Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division, along with the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigations, are currently assisting with the investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
