The Bettendorf Fire Department, along with other emergency responders, rushed to a house fire over the weekend. The fire resulted in significant damage, rendering the residence uninhabitable.
At 10:20 p.m. on Saturday, emergency crews swiftly responded to a house fire that broke out at 3013 Magnolia Drive, as stated in a media release by the City of Bettendorf.
Fortunately, no one was present inside the house when the fire occurred. However, amidst the chaos, a heroic effort led to the successful rescue of a dog from the blazing home. Thankfully, no injuries were reported during this incident.
Upon entering the home, the first crew noticed thick smoke and flames. However, they were able to swiftly extinguish the fire.
According to the crews, the utilities to the home have been shut off because of the uninhabitable conditions. Currently, an investigation is underway.
The Davenport Fire Department, Rock Island Arsenal Fire Department, Medic EMS of Scott County, and MidAmerican Energy were among the crews that provided assistance.
