On November 24, 2024, the Pueblo Police Department (PPD) was called to the 3100 block of Bonaventure Ct. in response to a report of a deceased individual. Upon arrival, detectives investigated the scene, leading to the arrest of a suspect on charges of second-degree murder.
The PPD later confirmed that 72-year-old Kathy Lawton is accused of fatally stabbing her 85-year-old husband, Larry Lawton, at the independent living facility where they resided. The Pueblo County Coroner has identified the victim as Larry Lawton.
