A young girl and two men are dead, and another child is hospitalized after a three-vehicle crash involving a stolen truck in Mesa on Monday morning.
According to Mesa police, a Ford F-250 was stolen in Gilbert just before the accident at Southern Avenue and Val Vista Road just before 8 a.m. According to authorities, the driver of the stolen F-250 went left of center and crashed with a Nissan Armada SUV.
Troy Garlock, 42, the driver of the SUV, was pronounced deceased at the site. An eight-year-old child and a six-year-old kid in the backseat were critically hurt.
Both of them were quickly taken to the hospital, unfortunately, the 8-year-old passed away later.
The Mesa police have reported that the driver of the stolen pickup, a 29-year-old man, also perished at the scene. However, his identity has not yet been disclosed.
The driver of a Nissan Sentra sedan was also involved in the crash, but fortunately, they did not sustain any serious injuries.
The authorities suspect that speed played a role in the accident.
Please avoid the area as drivers are requested to do so. The crash investigation has led to the closure of Val Vista Road between Southern Avenue and Hampton Avenue.
