5th suspect in Cailee Knight murder extradited from Texas

The Mobile County Metro Jail has recently booked the fifth suspect involved in the tragic murder of 9-year-old Cailee Knight in Mobile, Alabama.

Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood has confirmed that the fifth suspect, a 17-year-old girl, has been extradited from Texas.

The teenager is facing charges of two counts of capital murder, attempted murder, and discharging a gun into a building, as stated in jail records.

During a recent press conference, Blackwood refrained from disclosing the specific role played by the 17-year-old in the shooting. However, he did affirm that she was implicated as an accessory to the murder.

“As the investigation progressed, it became apparent that they played a role in aiding and abetting the situation,” explained Blackwood. “They were actively supporting and facilitating the events, and we strongly believe they were aware of what was happening.”

In December of last year, Cailee tragically lost her life in a drive-by shooting. She was peacefully sleeping on her couch on Rhett Drive when the incident occurred.

Mobile PD is investigating a tragic incident where shots were fired into a home, resulting in the death of a 9-year-old girl who was sleeping on the couch.

A grand jury last month indicted all five defendants: Ariel Curry, Tyrone Williams, Darius Lucky, Ricki Thier, and the 17-year-old girl.

Five individuals have been indicted for their alleged involvement in the tragic drive-by shooting that resulted in the death of a 9-year-old girl in Mobile.

The defendants’ charges were also elevated from murder to capital murder

All five suspects are currently being held without the possibility of bond and are expected to make their court appearances later this month.

The name of the fifth suspect will not be released due to her status as a juvenile.

Blackwood will reveal more information during her court appearance, according to sources.
