Missing 12-Year-Old Girl Found Safe in Colorado Springs

The Colorado Springs Police Department announced Thursday morning that Elizabeth Phelps, a 12-year-old who had been missing since Wednesday, has been located safely.

Phelps was initially reported missing after last being seen on Tuesday at The Citadel Mall. She was reportedly in the company of an unknown male described as wearing a black hoodie and black pants.

Authorities described Phelps as 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing approximately 115 pounds, with brown eyes and medium-length hair. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a black puffy jacket, a black crop top, black leggings, and a bow in her hair. She was also carrying a black Adidas backpack, a blue bag, and was wearing glasses.

The police had sought public assistance in locating Phelps, emphasizing the urgency due to her at-risk status.
