A woman was critically injured after being shot during an attempted robbery in Aurora on Monday evening. The incident occurred just before 8:30 p.m. near East 12th Avenue and Memphis Street.
The Aurora Police Department reported that a man and woman had arranged to meet in the area for a transaction involving items for sale. During the exchange, two individuals reportedly attempted to rob the couple at gunpoint.
According to the police, a physical altercation ensued, during which the woman was shot in the shoulder. She was immediately transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
The man involved in the incident was unharmed. The suspects fled the scene before officers arrived, and police are currently investigating the matter.
