Woman charged with DWI after being arrested for driving at 114 mph on a Houston tollway

A 27-year-old woman was detained for alleged drunk driving after being pulled over for speeding on the South Sam Houston Tollway East, according to the Harris County Constable Precinct 2.

On December 21, 2024, deputies from Constable Jerry Garcia’s office observed a car traveling at 114 mph in a 65 mph zone on the 8900 block of the tollway. The motorist, Rebecca R. Vega of Houston, Texas, showed many indicators of intoxication, triggering a DWI investigation, according to the press release.

Vega agreed to standardized field sobriety tests but later declined to finish them. Based on the facts acquired, deputies determined she was under the influence. On charges of driving while intoxicated, deputies arrested Vega and placed her in the Harris County Joint Processing Center.
