A Wisconsin man has been arrested on multiple counts of dealing cocaine and methamphetamine.
On Friday, deputies from the Laporte County Sheriff’s Office discovered Maurice Williams, 29, of Milwaukee, exceeding the speed limit on U.S. 20 by up to 45 miles per hour.
A motor vehicle pursuit ensued after Williams failed to halt; the pursuit stopped as Williams moved away. Later that evening, deputies from the Lake County Sheriff’s Department spotted the vehicle and resumed pursuit.
Williams then smashed into the rear of a semi-trailer and attempted to flee on foot before being apprehended.
Williams is currently being held in the Laporte County Jail on various accusations, including cocaine and methamphetamine distribution, possession of a firearm by a major violent criminal, and resisting law officers.
