A Virginia woman struck gold when she unexpectedly won the top prize of $2 million on a lottery scratcher ticket that was given to her by mistake in Carrollton.
Kelly Lindsay shared her experience with lottery officials, stating that she had visited the Race Way gas station in Carrollton to play her beloved Virginia Lottery scratcher game. However, she was mistakenly given the wrong ticket. Unfazed, Kelly went to the parking lot and decided to scratch the Money Blitz ticket she had received by accident. To her astonishment, she realized that she had won the grand prize of the game.

After redeeming her ticket, she told lottery officials, “I got over not being happy about it!”
Lindsay decided to take the lump sum payment of $1,250,000 before taxes.
Lottery officials have reported that there is still one top prize remaining that has not been claimed.
