Virginia State Police seized over 28 lbs of drugs in ongoing investigations

Virginia State Police (VSP) has recently shared an update on its ongoing investigations regarding the retrieval of firearms, narcotics, and human trafficking across the state of Virginia.

From January 31st to February 20th, VSP collaborated with various federal and state agencies to actively investigate a range of crimes across the state. These efforts led to significant progress in tackling issues such as the recovery of firearms, narcotics, cases of human trafficking, internet-based child exploitation, and homicides.

Here are the key findings from this investigation:

Firearm Recovery

    • 11 firearms were recovered at the value of $8,000

Narcotics Seizures

    • Total of 28.11 lbs of seized narcotics, as well as 19,200 controlled substance pills
    • Denied revenue of the seized narcotics were valued at $1,124,999
    • Narcotics recovered: 9 lbs of Cocaine, 8 lbs of Marijuana, 38.18 oz of Heroin, 8.15 lbs of Methamphetamine, 100 Percocet Pills and 19,100 Fentanyl Pills.

Explosive Devices Seized

    • One explosive device was safely recovered and offset.

Stolen Vehicle Recovery

    • Four stolen vehicles were recovered.

Gaming Enforcement

    • Six gaming-related tips were received — 1,324 total to-date

Human Trafficking Investigations:

    • Thirty-one new human trafficking tips — 623 total to-date
    • Investigations conducted: 185 cases currently under investigation, 60 victims identified and offered services and 2,548 individual investigative activities.

Homicide Investigation:

    • One homicide case investigated by VSP during the operation.

Virginia State Police have stated that their primary objective in this operation is to improve public safety and dismantle criminal organizations. They are working closely with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure the safety of communities across the state.
