A man from Virginia has received his sentence after repeatedly trafficking illegal drugs to New Jersey.
Djavon Holland, a 37-year-old resident of Virginia, was found guilty by a federal jury on Monday, Dec. 23, of two charges related to possessing fentanyl with the intent to distribute. As a result, he has been handed a 180-month prison sentence, along with four years of supervised release.
In August 2021, law enforcement received a tip from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) stating that Holland was involved in trafficking narcotics in Virginia and New Jersey.
According to the DOJ, Holland allegedly made multiple trips to New Jersey to sell fentanyl and heroin to a confidential source who was cooperating with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms.
In August 2021, court documents reveal that Holland allegedly made his initial recorded sale of $4,500 worth of narcotics to the confidential source. A few months later, in November 2021, Holland traveled to New Jersey once more and sold the same source a larger quantity of narcotics valued at $15,000.
