A scratch-off lottery ticket paid out a $1 million jackpot, giving an upstate woman a new home.
According to the South Carolina Education Lottery, the woman stopped for gas at the Spinx on Miller Farm Road near Inman and bought a $10 Royal Millions scratch-off ticket.
She explained to lottery authorities that she drove home and scratched the ticket in her driveway.
“When you see ‘$1 MIL’ printed on your ticket, it stops you,” the winner told lottery officials.
She purchased a new home after winning the prize.
The Royal Millions game is no longer offering $1 million rewards. The Spinx store earned $10,000 for selling the winning ticket.
Players who purchased a Royal Millions ticket can still win $1 million under the game’s “second-chance promotion.”
