Two Women Killed In Salina After Domestic Violence Situation, Suspect Has Prior Murder Conviction

Two women were tragically killed in Salina on Sunday evening in what authorities are now categorizing as a double homicide.

The suspect, Preston James Reyna, 36, of Salina, was located by the police a few blocks away from the scene. Authorities confirm that Reyna was apprehended without any resistance.

Salina Police Captain Mike Miller stated that officers received a call at 5:33 p.m. regarding a domestic violence incident at 759 Vassar Drive.

When officers arrived, they found two dead women.

According to Miller, the police are currently interviewing multiple witnesses and making efforts to obtain a warrant for the home.

Reyna is facing charges of first-degree murder, aggravated domestic violence battery, aggravated kidnapping, domestic violence battery, and domestic violence damage to property. These charges will be presented to the Saline County Attorney for further action.

According to the Kansas Department of Corrections, Rayna has a prior conviction for second-degree murder.

The incident occurred in Saline County on January 18, 2009, as stated by KDOC. Court records indicate that Reyna received a sentence just over a year later and was subsequently released on January 27, 2020.
