Two individuals are currently in the process of recovering after a driver forcefully collided into a restaurant in the East Valley late Friday morning, according to reports from AZFamily.
Around 11 a.m., Mesa and Gilbert firefighters rushed to the scene of a crash at the Gilbert Gateway Towne Center, near Power and Ray roads. The incident occurred at a Jersey Mike’s restaurant, where a driver had plowed through the glass doors at the front of the establishment.
Two individuals were transported to the hospital for a precautionary examination due to minor injuries.
According to Gilbert authorities, there is no belief that the driver was impaired at the time of the collision.
On Friday, there were three separate incidents involving drivers crashing into buildings. One of these instances took place in Tempe, where a pickup truck driver collided with a coffee shop’s patio. Additionally, earlier in the morning, a Phoenix home was hit by a driver who was allegedly under the influence.
