Using hammers as their weapon of choice, two men in Washington have been involved in multiple robberies, which I find quite peculiar when it comes to targeting gas stations. However, one could argue that such a choice might come in handy during a zombie apocalypse.
Two men with hammers rob Washington gas stations
According to the police investigators, there is a possibility that the early morning robberies might be connected. In both instances, surveillance footage revealed that the suspects, who were wearing masks, were seen brandishing hammers.
Around 12:30 am, the Shell station in the 4500 block of Fauntleroy Way Southwest in west Seattle experienced its first robbery.
The suspects allegedly committed another robbery about 30 minutes later at a different Shell station in the 700 block of Taylor Avenue North in Lower Queen Anne. There is also a possibility of a third robbery happening in Bellevue.
The Seattle Police Department is currently investigating both incidents, as reported by King 5. The department is treating these incidents as the work of the same crew, based on the similarities observed. Investigators suspect that the crew is following a specific pattern.
The thieves made off with $200 in cash and stole $500 worth of goods. In their attempt to open the ATM, they also vandalized the screen. Afterward, they swiftly fled the scene in the SUV, driving at a high speed.
The police have not yet released information about the second and third robberies. However, both incidents bear striking similarities. According to law enforcement, they have been arriving at the scenes just a few minutes after the suspects fled.
The police should soon uncover the identities of the suspects and apprehend them to ensure they are held responsible for their actions. While there is a possibility of them striking again, it is fortunate that no injuries have been reported thus far.
