Tragic Accident At Arizona Biltmore Claims The Life Of An Iowa Boy Due To An Unsecured Statue

A terrible incident at the Arizona Biltmore has come into closer focus as information emerges about the death of Luke Linnett, an eight-year-old Iowa boy, who was killed when a statue fell on him.

On November 27, Linnett attempted to climb one of the “Sprites,” a collection of statues designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and Alfonso Ianelli but not attached to their bases, while he was at the resort with his family.

According to FOX 10 Phoenix, the statue tipped over, resulting in the boy’s tragic injury while his mother was nearby waiting for a grocery delivery.

Following the event, the Phoenix Police Department concluded the case on December 4, citing blunt force injuries as the cause of death. Dennis I. Wilenchik, the family’s attorney, told AZCentral, “This should never have happened and is scary, but it is also a reminder to us all to hold and cherish our loved ones, particularly young ones, and give thanks to God every day for what we have and what is important in life.”
