Texas Man Wanted For Allegedly Stealing $6k From Job Seeker In Missouri

An arrest warrant has been issued for a Texas man who is suspected of swindling thousands of dollars from a job seeker in Missouri. The victim, who believed they had secured employment, fell prey to the deceptive tactics of the accused individual.

Stefan C. Nash, 29, from Killeen, Texas, has been charged in connection with an employment scheme that targeted a victim in Platte County, Missouri. According to records filed on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at the Platte County Circuit Court, Nash is accused of taking advantage of the victim in this scheme.

According to a probable cause statement filed by the Platte Co. Sheriff’s Office, a victim reported on June 5 that he had applied for a job and received an invitation for an online interview. Once he was selected for the position, he received a mobile check to purchase new job-specific equipment.

On May 31, the victim reported that he had conducted a wire transfer to finalize the purchase of the equipment before the check he had been sent cleared. However, his bank later informed him that the check had never cleared, leaving him more than $6,000 out of pocket.

Investigators have identified Nash, a former Armed Services member, as the suspect based on a trail of bank transfers. Consequently, he has been charged with stealing, and a warrant with a $25,000 bond attached has been issued for his arrest.

As of Friday, it seems that Nash is not currently in custody. A hearing for his case has not been scheduled yet, and there is no additional information available at this time.
