A U.S. citizen from Texas is currently battling to bring his wife and four children back to the country after they were unexpectedly deported.
Federico Arellano is yearning for a reunion with his loved ones – his newly born twin daughters, their two siblings, and their mother – who were all forced to return to Mexico.
After attempting to navigate the immigration system on their own, his wife, who was born in Mexico, experienced this.
However, the immigration hearing became uncertain after she had to reschedule it because of an emergency c-section to deliver their twins.
“This case shouldn’t have gone to this extreme,” Immigration lawyer Isaias Torres said. “There were options, legal options that were available and he was not given that opportunity.”
The family, along with their attorneys, intend to file a complaint with the office of the inspector general.
They are also planning to file petitions with immigration, but this process could potentially take several months.
