A Tennessee man was sentenced to two months in jail on Wednesday, January 8, for giving marijuana to an inmate at a federal prison in Mississippi.
Officials from the United States Attorney’s Office have released Mark Anderson, 50, from federal prison and placed him on supervised release for three years.
According to court records, Anderson flew a drone containing 195 grams of marijuana over the Federal Correctional Complex in Yazoo City and delivered it by releasing it from the air, where an inmate later recovered it on October 2, 2021.
Anderson entered a guilty plea on September 26, 2024.
Homeland Security Investigations and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation looked into the case.
