A car struck a teenager while they were crossing the street in San Tan Valley on Wednesday morning. The teenager is currently in the hospital, according to AZFamily.
Limited information is available regarding the crash. Emergency personnel received a call around 6:30 a.m. reporting a collision between a car and a pedestrian near Johnson Ranch Boulevard and Saddle Way, located just west of Hunt Highway.
A teenager was struck by a Ford Ranger truck while crossing the street near a crosswalk on Johnson Ranch. The incident occurred when the truck, traveling east, collided with the young pedestrian, according to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office.
A 16-year-old was airlifted to the hospital by Rural Metro paramedics after sustaining serious injuries. Fortunately, the teen is now in stable condition.
The driver of the car, who is also a teenager, remained at the scene of the accident and did not sustain any injuries.
East Saddle Way is currently closed as authorities are conducting an investigation. Unfortunately, there is no estimated time for when the road will reopen.
