A man from Florida has been arrested in Pitt County for allegedly breaking into an ATM at Southern Bank in Winterville. Despite his efforts, he left empty-handed.
Enderson Chacin Ruiz, a 40-year-old resident of Miramar, Florida, found himself in the custody of the Pitt County Detention Center on Thursday, January 16th.
The Winterville Police Department has reported that the ATM located at 4259 Winterville Parkway, specifically at Southern Bank, was subjected to a break-in on November 18, 2024. According to officials, no valuable items were taken from the ATM.
After analyzing the evidence and gathering information, authorities discovered that Ruiz, along with two other suspects, were involved in additional incidents in Virginia and South Carolina.
At present, the authorities have not yet identified two more suspects.
Ruiz is being charged with the following offenses:

- Felony Conspiracy.
Ruiz received a secured bond of $75,000.
