On February 24, 2025, an incident occurred at an Asheville hotel where a man and a woman were both shot. The man sustained a wound to his arm, while the woman suffered wounds to her leg and stomach. They were promptly taken to Mission hospital for treatment and were reported to be in stable condition.
On February 28, 2025, the Asheville Police Department detectives identified the shooting suspect as Edzavious Javon Lindsey and subsequently issued warrants for his arrest. It is worth noting that Lindsey is also wanted in South Carolina for Armed Robbery.
Detectives located and arrested Lindsey on March 5, 2025. She was then booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility without the possibility of being released on bond.
The suspect is facing a range of charges, which include two counts of attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, robbery, and larceny of a firearm.
Authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the shooting incident.
