Jerad Rose, an employee of the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), tragically lost his life while carrying out his responsibilities. This devastating incident serves as a reminder of the risks that many dedicated individuals face in the line of duty.
“Today’s tragedy is yet another reminder of the danger our front-line workers face as they work to improve the lives of South Carolinians,” Secretary of Transportation Justin Powell said.
Rose, who has been working as a surveyor in Dorchester County for the past year, will receive recognition and be honored at the upcoming annual workers’ memorial service in April.
“Jerad’s memory and his sacrifice in service to our state will not be forgotten. This is a tremendous loss and I would ask all of you to join us in lifting up his family, friends and colleagues in your prayers tonight,” Powell said.
