SLED urges public to remain watchful and report any suspicious activity for the safety of communities

The South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division is issuing a reminder to all individuals: if you happen to witness anything suspicious, it’s crucial to report it.

“I would like to remind everyone that we must all stay vigilant and continue working together to help keep our communities safe,” said SLED Chief Mark Keel. “If you see something suspicious, or that doesn’t seem quite right, please say something.”

If you have any concerns regarding public safety, it is advisable to reach out to your local police department, county sheriff’s office, or other local law enforcement officials. They are equipped to address and handle such matters effectively.

If you have any information regarding a criminal matter, you have the option to provide an anonymous tip through Crimestoppers. You can visit their website at http://888crimesc.com/ or contact them by phone at 1-888-CRIMESC (274-6372). Remember to call 911 in case of an emergency.

If you come across any suspicious activity, you can contact SLED by calling the SLED Operations Desk at (866)472-8477. Alternatively, you can visit www.sled.sc.gov/SAR_Form and fill out the form on SLED’s website to report the suspicious activity. Please note that the SLED Suspicious Activity Report form should be used specifically for incidents that are connected to or potentially involve acts of terrorism.
