The Drug Enforcement Agency, along with other federal agencies, is focusing on undocumented immigrants in Missouri.
According to the DEA, the agency has collaborated with the FBI and ATF to apprehend individuals. As of February 10, a total of 41 individuals have been arrested by federal authorities.
The DEA has made arrests in various locations in southwest Missouri, including Rolla and Joplin. It is important to note that these arrests are not targeting random individuals on the street, according to the DEA.
”These are criminal warrants and administrative warrants, and yes, we, we go out, and our guys are out there doing surveillance with Homeland Security, and we’re putting these individuals down in certain locations and, then we go out and actually make the arrest,” said Michael Davis with the St. Louis Division of DEA.
A federal judge has recently imposed restrictions on immigration enforcement activities within certain churches. This ruling prevents ICE from carrying out any actions at the places of worship that filed a lawsuit against the Trump Administration.
The policy, which affects congregations of Quakers, Baptists, and Sikhs, was not halted on a nationwide scale, as the judge ruled.
