A rock slide on Highway 50 in Fremont County has resulted in a complete road closure. The incident occurred Wednesday just west of Howard, a small town located a few miles southeast of Salida.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the closure is expected to last for an extended period as cleanup efforts are underway. Social media posts from the patrol showed the highway covered with numerous rocks, including a massive boulder estimated to be 8 to 10 feet tall. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries from the incident.
