Police: Woman Accused Of Stealing At Montco Planet Fitness Charged For Same Alleged Crimes At Bucks Locations

A Philadelphia woman, who was previously charged by Montgomery Township Police for two theft from locker incidents at Planet Fitness near Five Points, is now facing additional charges by Hilltown Township Police for allegedly committing similar crimes at a Bucks County location in December. The woman has been charged with numerous felonies in connection with these incidents.

Tierra Melanie Nesmith, a 37-year-old resident of the 2100 block of Homer Street, found herself facing a series of serious charges on February 11th. The charges against her include four felony counts of access device fraud, three felony counts of identity theft, as well as three counts of theft from a motor vehicle and access device fraud. The police are actively investigating the matter.

On Sunday morning, the police successfully carried out an arrest warrant for Nesmith. This action was a result of an ongoing investigation into a reported theft from a vehicle parked at the Planet Fitness lot in the County Line Plaza shopping center on December 27, 2024.

Doylestown Township Police have taken legal action against Nesmith, filing 13 felony charges on February 12. These charges include eight counts of access device fraud, criminal trespassing, two counts of receiving stolen property, and two counts of theft by unlawful taking. The charges are connected to an incident that occurred on February 3, as outlined in the charging documents.

According to the affidavit, Nesmith is facing charges for felony access device fraud, as well as misdemeanor counts of theft and receiving stolen property. These alleged offenses took place on January 22 at the fitness center located at 751 Horsham Road in Montgomery Township, Montgomery County. The charges were filed against Nesmith on February 5.

Nesmith is facing six charges across two arrests. She was charged separately by Montgomery Township Police for the same offenses for another alleged theft on the same day.

On January 22nd, at 8 p.m., a resident in the township contacted the police to report a theft of her credit cards that occurred earlier in the day at Planet Fitness. According to the victim, she had arrived at the gym at 2:07 p.m. and left at 3:10 p.m. During this time, she had left her gym bag unsecured in a locker located in the women’s locker room.

According to the complaint, the victim had her wallet hidden at the bottom of her bag, covered by a coat. After leaving the gym, she received a notification on her phone from her bank inquiring about her authorization for $500 worth of transactions at Walgreens at 2:45 p.m. Although she flagged the transaction, the purchase of a $500 Amazon gift card and a $500 Target gift card had already been made. Fortunately, a transaction at the Giant on Knapp Road was declined, as stated in the complaint.

According to the police, the victim discovered that her wallet was still in her bag, but two bank cards and $65 in cash were gone.

At 2:48 p.m. on January 23rd, the police received a call regarding a stolen credit card at Planet Fitness. The victim informed the police that she had placed her coat and belongings in an unsecured locker in the locker room at 1:45 p.m. the day before.

In the afternoon at 3 p.m, she went to collect her belongings and discovered that her car keys were missing from her coat pocket, as mentioned by the police. Upon reaching her car, the victim noticed her key resting on the passenger seat, with the door left unlocked, according to the complaint.

Her purse was robbed of a Visa debit card. Later, the victim received a call from Bank of America informing her about a suspicious transaction. The purchase was made at Walgreens in Montgomery Township, amounting to $500 for an Amazon gift card, according to the police. Fortunately, two subsequent transactions at Giant in Montgomery Township were declined, one for $307 and another for $400, as stated in the complaint.

According to the criminal complaint, during the investigation, the police managed to track down a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee of dark blue color that was involved in both incidents. It was also present at a retail theft in Horsham Township in 2023.

According to the police, Nesmith has been implicated as one of the defendants in the incident. By comparing arrest photos of Nesmith with video surveillance footage, law enforcement was able to identify her as the suspect in question.

According to the affidavit, Nesmith is said to have evaded a traffic stop conducted by Horsham Township Police on January 27. Before fleeing, the police had already identified Nesmith as the driver.

Nesmith, as per court records, was charged in both cases and taken into custody on February 6. The bail amount for each case, including a probation/parole detainer, was set at $77. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for April 8 at 9:45 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge Andrea Duffy.

Nesmith currently faces nine ongoing criminal cases at the Magisterial District Court in Montgomery County. These cases stem from arrests that took place between December 19, 2024, and February 6, 2025.

According to court documents, Nesmith was arrested on January 19 in Abington Township. The arrest resulted in 11 felony charges related to burglary, criminal trespassing, and access device fraud, as well as 11 misdemeanor charges related to theft and receiving stolen property. Nesmith is currently in jail with a cash bail set at $10,077.

Nesmith remains incarcerated at Bucks County jail, as per court documents, due to paying 10% of the $25,000 cash bail for each new arrest in Bucks County. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for February 25th at 2 p.m. before Magisterial District Judge Regina Armitage.
