Police searching for missing Arizona 16-year-old believed to be with 29-year-old man, traveling to New Mexico

AVONDALE, Arizona. — The Avondale Police Department is actively searching for a missing endangered teen who is thought to be traveling with a 29-year-old man.

According to police, Destiny Jasmine Renee Bateman was last seen at her Avondale home, near Buckeye and El Mirage roads, around 1 a.m. on November 3 by a family member.

Bateman is believed to have left her home with Isaac Martin, 29.

“I woke up to a nightmare,” said Misty Milleman, Bateman’s mother. “I love you so much. Please come home.”

Milleman informed 12News that Martin was a close family friend, but she now fears for her daughter’s safety.

Bateman’s parents shared that she took her Bible and left letters for each family member behind.

“There was a stack of papers at the foot of the bed saying goodbye, mom,” Milleman noted.

The family received a text from Bateman around 8:50 a.m. indicating she was traveling toward New Mexico and was very close to the Arizona border.

“We don’t know where they went from there,” said Carlos Chavez, Bateman’s father.

Martin is believed to be driving a silver 2016 Buick Encore with Arizona license plate registration BEA0TX.

Based on phone pings and traffic camera footage, they were last seen traveling north of the Four Corners area.

“I’m begging you, bring her home,” Milleman pleaded. “She’s my everything.”

Bateman is described as weighing 110 pounds and standing 5 feet tall, with red hair and brown eyes.

When last seen, she wore a black hat inscribed with “street life,” a black hoodie-style sweater, and grey pajama pants with a teddy bear print.

Police describe Martin as a Hispanic male, with black hair and brown eyes, standing 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 235 pounds.

Authorities have established probable cause for Martin’s arrest on charges of kidnapping.

Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact Avondale police at 623-333-7001.
