The Aurora-Marionville Police Department (AMPD) is currently investigating a homicide case following the surrender of a woman in the early hours of Thursday, January 23rd.
Taylor Santiago, 32, is facing several charges, including first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, unlawful use of a weapon, and first-degree endangerment of a child, as stated in a probable cause statement.
On January 23, she came to the Aurora Police and Fire Facility at about 1:45 a.m. and called from the parking lot, claiming she had slain her estranged husband, Troy Huffman, at her house. When cops got to the residence, they discovered Huffman dead.
AMPD Chief Wes Coatney says Santiago reportedly shot Huffman three times with a .38 caliber handgun while a youngster was inside the house.
According to AMPD, Santiago told officers she had driven to Arkansas earlier and shot two more individuals, including the biological father of one of her children, who was also present at the time of the incident.
According to AMPD, police have also seized the gun they suspect Santiago used in the incidents, and there is no longer an ongoing threat to the Aurora or Marionville communities.
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office is receiving assistance from Aurora police in their investigation into an Arkansas homicide.
According to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, deputies found a guy and a female victim at a home. Deputies took the male victim to the hospital in severe condition. They pronounced the female deceased.
During the post-Miranda interrogation, Santiago informed officers she lured Huffman to her home with the sole purpose of killing him and then stealing his automobile. She revealed to authorities that she drove Huffman’s automobile to Carroll County with the intention of killing both Huffman’s estranged partner and her current lover.
The Lawrence County Jail is currently housing Santiago.
