A man has been charged with murder after a 15-year-old girl was discovered shot dead inside a car over the weekend.
On March 2, soon after midnight, Chesterfield officers responded to the 6300 block of Pewter Avenue for a report of a shooting.
When authorities arrived, they discovered a 15-year-old girl shot to death and a guy with a life-threatening gunshot wound.
“Following investigation, the adult male, identified as Roberto Pierre Elias Zaldivar, 30, of Colonial Heights, Va., was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in relation to the juvenile female’s death,” Chesterfield Police said.
Police revealed that the victim and Elias Zaldivar were romantically involved.
“At this time, the investigation indicates this is an isolated incident, and police are not looking for any additional suspects,” according to Chesterfield authorities.
Elias Zaldivar is still in the hospital and under the custody of the county sheriff’s office.
