Pennsylvania Man Hit By Plow Truck In Parking Lot

On Monday, a pickup truck plowing snow out of a parking lot in Westmoreland County struck a 74-year-old man.

According to reports from TribLive and WTAE, the incident took place a little before 8 a.m. at an orthopedic center on Pellis Road in Hempfield Township.

The man was hit by the truck’s back end when it was reversing. The truck was equipped with a snow plow and salt spreader. The police reported the incident.

Westmoreland Landscapes, a private company hired to clear the parking lot, owned the truck.

The driver of the truck, who is 27 years old, remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.

Paul Tucci, the victim, was transported to a hospital where he is expected to recover from his injuries.

According to news reports, Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Steve Limani stated that the truck driver was not driving recklessly at the time of the accident.

“As drivers in parking lots and as pedestrian in parking lots, we just really need to be cognizant of what’s happening around us,” Limani said, per TribLive.
