A Minnesota man miraculously survived getting stabbed so hard by a friend that his organs were visible, according to police.
Allegations of a stabbing led Minneapolis police to an apartment on Tuesday. The severity of his stab wounds apparently exposed his organs, according to a criminal complaint KSTP obtained.
The victim told officers as emergency responders transported him that his best friend had stabbed him while he was asleep. They rushed the sufferer to the hospital, where they administered 30 staples.
Police identified the friend as 35-year-old Thomas Allan Jackson, who claimed he stabbed the victim in retaliation for his mother’s murder.
The victim, who claimed to have smoked marijuana before the encounter, reportedly told police that Jackson had been “talking crazy” and threatened to murder someone.
Jackson is accused of second-degree assault.
Recent months have linked drugs and alcohol to violence across the country. In October, an Indiana man claimed he was unable to recall anything after he reportedly ran over a woman in her car while high on amphetamine and Xanax.
In another case, a Florida man looked to be intoxicated when he allegedly cut two individuals with a machete during a violent outburst.
