One Of Oklahoma’s Most Wanted Criminals Apprehended In Leelanau County

The Leelanau County Sheriff’s Office has successfully apprehended one of Oklahoma’s most wanted criminals, as announced by Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond on Friday. The suspect, Nicholas Armando Roman, 20, has been accused of sexually touching a young girl in an incident that took place on March 4, 2022, in Oklahoma City, according to Drummond’s office.

In an effort to apprehend Oklahoma’s most notorious fugitives, Drummond initiated a campaign titled “Attorney General’s Most Wanted” last fall.

“Drummond has partnered with the U.S. Marshals Service and other federal, tribal, state, county, and local law enforcement agencies to identify 10 Most Wanted fugitives and to work to hold them accountable for their actions,” an announcement of the program stated. “Individuals on the Most Wanted list pose serious threats to public safety.”

Drummond and his team have been continuously updating the initial list of suspects wanted for a range of serious crimes, including rape, murder, assault and battery, and drug trafficking. As fugitives have been located and apprehended, new names have been added. Recently, Roman became the ninth fugitive to be arrested through the program, being apprehended just days after being added to the list, according to Drummond’s office.

The Oklahoma Attorney General’s office announced in a press release that Roman, the suspect, was captured. Investigators from the office successfully determined that he had relocated to Michigan and obtained a Michigan driver’s license in October 2024. Additionally, it was mentioned in the release that Roman may have been employed at a construction company in Northport.

The Leelanau County Sheriff’s Office successfully located and arrested Roman, thanks to the coordination between Drummond’s office and the local authorities.
