A New Mexico man was found guilty of raping a woman he met on social media.
According to court documents, Victor Contreras contacted a lady on social media in 2020, and the victim informed police in 2021 that Contreras frequently threatened and forced her to have sex with him. Jurors saw threatening text messages and heard incriminating statements from Contreras. The jury found him guilty of criminal sexual penetration. Contreras also faces a federal gun allegation.
