Neighbor alerts authorities about fire in Davenport during residents’ absence

A fire in Davenport was reported by a neighbor while the residents were away from home.

Crews swiftly responded to a report from a neighbor about a structure fire in the 1200 block of West 17th Street around 1 p.m., as stated in a media release.

Upon arrival, crews were met with heavy smoke emanating from the front door of a two-story home.
